At Best Drivers, we respect your [[app_privacy|privacy and data rights]]. This page outlines our procedure for deleting your account and associated data, in compliance with applicable app store policies (Apple App Store and Google Play) and data protection regulations.

===== Requesting Account Deletion =====

If you wish to delete your account, please follow these steps:

==== Step 1: Initiate Account Deletion =====

  * **From the app (recommended):** You can delete your account directly within the app, with no need to send any email. Click on your name (top right), then Settings, and press the **Delete account** button. The app will ask you to confirm and, once confirmed, it will initiate the deletion of your account: you will be logged out immediately and will no longer be able to use the service.

  * **By email (optional alternative):** If you prefer, you can also send an account deletion request to privacy@karbooking.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request".

==== Step 2: Confirmation =====

  * If you delete your account from within the app, confirmation happens immediately, inside the app (your identity is already verified by your logged-in session); you do not need to check your email. If instead you requested deletion by email, we will send a confirmation email to your registered address to verify your identity.

==== Step 3: Account Deletion =====

  * After confirmation, your account is disabled immediately and we proceed to delete your account and associated data. For corporate accounts (employees of companies that contract the service), final deletion is coordinated with the contracting company. We will retain only the data we are required to keep for legal, regulatory, accounting/billing or security purposes (for example, records of trips already billed), as outlined in our Privacy Policy.

  * **Data Types:** User profile, usage data, and other information linked to your account.
  * **Retention Period:** Data is retained as long as required for service provision or until an account deletion request is made.
  * **Exclusions:** Certain data may be retained if necessary for legal, security, or regulatory reasons.

  * Once your account is deleted, you will no longer be able to access our services using that account.
  * Data deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Please ensure you have saved any necessary information before requesting account deletion.
